The Bridesmaids

Hey, Kris! Kristin-I met Kristin Lamond, my maid of honor, during our orientation weekend at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing. Her thoughtful and insightful personality was a perfect match for my more quirky and off-the-wall one! We hit it off quickly, and a close friendship formed that has stayed strong through the joys and pains of nursing school. Kristin is the type of friend that one can also turn to for some good, sound advice that comes straight from the heart...which was so helpful to me as my relationship with Paul grew! Kristin loves to read and travel (she can tell you all about China...God's taken her there several times on mission trips). She is also an expert on many things such as weather patterns (she almost became a meteorologist), world affairs (becoming a flight attendent crossed her mind), and U.S. presidents (she knows them all, including many state birds). She is also one of the most caring and godly women I know, which perfectly fits her chosen career...nursing!

Carey Carey-I met Carey while we were both students at Berry, but it wasn't until we were in nursing school together that we really got to know one another. Carey, like myself, is very much a "Berry girl"! She enjoys being outdoors, and is always up to go camping or hiking. This was such a blessing for me when I first moved to downtown Atlanta, because Carey also loved to get out of the city for an adventure! Carey is a very talented artist, and you can see her love for the outdoors portrayed in her paintings. I first learned about my wonderful husband-to-be through Carey...she told me about this "great" guy that I really needed to meet at her church! Well, the rest was history! I also had the priviledge of being roommates with Carey for awhile, and it was then that I really learned what a sweet, godly woman she is. Carey's love for Christ overflows into everything she does, and I am blessed to have her for a friend.

Christy Christy-I met Christy Slocum on my very first day at Berry College; she helped me move into my dorm room, which was right next to hers. It wasn't until halfway into our freshman year that we became close friends, but our friendship quickly deepened and has lasted through the years. Christy is happily married to her high-school sweetheart David, who is in medical school. She is a nurse to mama's and babies in the Augusta area. Christy really has a love for others. Christy also loves being outdoors, and some of my favorite memories from Berry include taking in a jog around campus or going on a bike ride with Christy.

Lacey Lacey-Lacey Allen is a friend that can always bring a smile to my face...I can't count how many times we've exploded into laughter over something no one else just doesn't seem to get! When I think of Lacey, the verse from Proverbs, "A joyful heart is good medicine" comes to mind. I also met Lacey at the beginning of nursing school, and our friendship has been something that's helped me keep things in perspective over the years. Lacey loves to song and is pretty darn good at it, if I do say so myself. Stay tuned...her beautiful voice can be heard on our wedding day! Lacey also likes to read (she, Kristin, and I have a veritable book club going at our apartment!). She and I are also the proud parents of a very sweet cat, named Ellie. God has really given Lacey a heart for the elderly, and she has chosen this path for her nursing career.

Suzanne Suzanne-Suzanne Khan, also known as Suzy-Q, is also one of my best Berry buddies. She and I met in our freshman seminar class when we were both just starting out in college. It was such a blessing to have a friend in the midst of being in a totally new environment...and our friendship has continued and grown stronger through it all! Suzanne and I have shared many adventures together through the years, including taking a mountain biking class and going on long roadtrips. We even mudwrestled together, and there's no one else who I'd rather have been slammed into the mud by! (The mudwrestling...it's an interesting Berry tradition!) Don't let the slamming in the mud thing fool you, though, because Suzanne is one of the most caring, loving people I know. She is happily married to her Berry beau, Mono.

Vicki Vicki-Vicki Kotronis is Paul's 'lil sis, and she also goes to Berry! (Anyone noticing a trend here?) Vicki and I REALLY got to know each other this past summer when she, Paul, and I went to California to visit family. When you drive from LA to San Francisco and back again with someone, you just can't help but get close! She has made me feel so welcome into the family, and I am fortunate to have such a cool future sister-in-law. This summer, Vicki will be a team leader at Beach Project at Panama City Beach. This is a really awesome ministry, and Vicki will be trading in her spatula from Waffle House (her usual summer vocation when she's down there!) so that she can lead and mentor a group of girls.
